These photos are amazing! the vibrant colours have been beautifully captured!
Thanks 🙂 The light was lovely in the butterfly house, it really helped bring out their beautiful color.
What a beautiful set of butterflies, how crisp the detail!
I like how they are all native species.
I didn’t realize that until you mentioned it… nice!
All the butterflies are starting to visit our yard again as well. Today’s warmer temps is a sign of a hot summer ahead. Found this really weird looking wormy type of bug on one of my plants. It was soon to be a swallow tail butterfly. Thank goodness I didn’t kill it. Lovely compositions. Have a great weekend.
Aren’t those the strangest looking caterpillars!?! We are getting butterflies too, but today the wind has been so strong that they just go blowing by 🙂 We were planning to paint our house this weekend… hehehe… that didn’t happen! So we are having a slower weekend than we had planned for. Hope yours has been good!
All the best,
Awesome captures! I can’t wait to see butterflies!
Thank you Jackie! This winter has been way too long for way too many 😦 I hope you have butterflies soon
I saw one today! Just now as I was walking back from the store. 😀
Wonderful photos. It seems like a great place to be:)
Thank you! I have been wanting to visit a butterfly house since I got my new camera, I was loving it!!
Hello Ma’am. I like these shots very much. Are you getting these with a kit lens? Regardless of that, I’m impressed with the performance of this little camera. I believe you said it was a d3200, right?
And I don’t know if I’ve said it before (I must not have because I don’t remember noticing it), but your watermark is very nice. It goes very well with your style of photos.
Why, thank you! Yep, these are with the kit lens and some with the added macro filters. LOVE my d3200… and Lightroom. (Thank you for that recommendation by the way!) The watermark has been a work in progress. I designed it and started using a few posts back. Some posts I forgot to use it, some it is there but slightly camouflaged. I felt timid about using it at first. Not sure why… but now I am getting used to seeing it on my images and getting bolder with using it. I don’t want it to interfere, but I do want it to be seen. It’s starting to come together 🙂 thanks for your feedback!
Beautiful! And as I was clicking through the images the biggest butterfly I’ve ever seen flew by! That was a cool coincidence 😮
😀 That has to be a good omen!! I love that you are documenting your trip to Haiti, it is absolutely fascinating. Seeing it through your experiences is… to use your favorite word… wonderful!!
These are cool shots.
Our property – I live in Johannesburg – has quite a few indigenous trees and shrubs and we have a fair few butterflies that visit us. But the real fun is when one butterfly – and all I can say it is white , which is not helpful,I realise lol., hatches. Then for only a small portion of a single day the garden is full of cloud after cloud of hatching butterflies.
This year, when the time arrives, we have vowed to try to photograph the event. Up ’til now we have always just missed it, and caught only a few stragglers.
Oh wow! That would be fantastic – I hope you succeed in documenting it this year!!
So do we!
I will definitely post pics if one of the family succeeds in photographing it.
Lovely photos – butterflies are great! You have some lovely ones in Florida.
Arkenaten – we lived in Joburg for 12 years before moving to Malaysia – we remember the clouds of whites each year, floods and floods of them. Even when we drove up to Brits the clouds continued. Must have been millions!
Thank you! I truly hope Arkenaten gets pictures – I would love to see the clouds of butterflies!
Beautifully captured! 🙂
