Burnt bark of a Longleaf Pine
I remember coming across a prescribed burn in progress at Rookery Bay near Naples – it’s so alarming when you catch the scent before you see what’s going on. But it does leave interesting patterns on the pine bark.
Yeah, there was a lot of burnt wood. We spoke with someone at the info center and she said they will do another burn soon. Good for the forest they say 🙂
