Tree love
Gallery.
An old Hickory tree, I think – if anyone else can identify it let me know.
I was out walking around taking pictures near the edge of the lagoon and saw this beauty, I had to go over and touch it. The texture of the trunk created from being seasoned with no bark was fantastic. All around the base, littering the pepper trees and scrub, were white bird droppings. I guess the local birds love the tree too.

great shots! love the ones of the trunk, great structure!
why don’t you join tree tuesday? it’s very easy to participate, just post an image of trees on tuesdays and tag it “tree tuesday” 🙂
I had thought about it, it’s a cool idea! I follow a few people who do it. I don’t always have a tree for Tuesday, but when I do I will participate. Thanks 🙂
alright, i’m looking forward to seeing some of your trees 🙂 and no worries, you don’t have to participate every week!!
have a great day,
evelyn
Did you find any hickory nuts around the tree? What kind of baby trees are growing around it under the canopy? That would give an idea as to what it is. Regardless, I love trees and their beautiful shapes and bark. I see Evelyn already asked you to join Tree Tuesday (great idea), I second that emotion. 😉
This tree died many years ago. No nuts, no canopy. Just a tall ghost snag of what it used to be. The foliage in the pic is from other trees.
I always enjoy your Tree Tuesday posts, I thought I would join in on the fun 🙂
So sad when trees die. From the looks of the bark it could have been either Hickory or Oak. Not really sure on that one but it was beautiful anyway. Glad you enjoy the Tree Tuesday posts and are joining in on the fun. 😉
Amazing…. This tree has many stories to tell… Beautiful!
Happy TreeTuesday! 🙂
So true… Thanks, and Happy Tree Tuesday to you 🙂
happy tree tuesday
Same to you!!
