Beach day: Two of two
These pictures are from this past Sunday.
The tide was high and the wind had blown in trash. Styrofoam chunks littered the length of the beach and various odds and ends made of plastic were strewn in between.
The light was constantly changing, the clouds moving over then away from the sun.
I want to remember this day. This was a day for retrospection and looking forward to the New Year. I thought about where I have been and where I am going. Listening to the waves and feeling the air on my skin, I felt ready for the year ahead and satisfied with the choices I have made this past year.
A good day to remember.
Except for the dead bird, of course… that was sad. Other than that – a good day 🙂
A great set of pictures. It is amazing the difference in the beaches from the East coast to the West coast of FL.
Even this beach changes through the seasons. To you, what are the main differences between the beaches where you are and the east coast? Just curious.
Well one difference is the waves, they are much smaller here. Also the whole look of the beach, Here everything is flat right up to the water, where on the east side you have to go down stairs to reach the beach.
Gotcha! I’m going to have to get to the west coast this coming year and do some exploring 🙂 Thanks for the insight.
Lovely. Barry and I are drawn to the water too. It is a place of life, and renewal… it seems to wash the old away….thank you.
I couldn’t imagine not being near the water. I grew up with rivers, lakes and streams – now I am lucky enough to live near the ocean. I am so glad you liked the post!
